It’s Friday and you may be asking yourself…
What are we going to do this weekend?
Foodies and wine connoisseurs can transform their ordinary weekend into an exquisite mini vacation when they book a room at the Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. This weekend, and every weekend through November 15th, the Hilton Bonnet Creek and the Waldorf Astoria Orlando Resort are hosting guests for a culinary whirlwind they like to call “Food & Wine Weekends”
Think you can fit six epicurean adventures into one weekend getaway? If I can…you can.
Let me break it down for you and show you how I did it on my most recent stay at the Waldorf Astoria.
If you are staying at the Waldorf Astoria, one of the perks of Friday check-in is complementary champagne. You will also receive two vouchers to redeem at the bar for another glass of complementary bubbly or house wine. Win-Win!
Rates for a gorgeous room like this one start at only $229 a night.
The Taste of Bull & Bear
This five-course dinner is available on Friday and Saturday night from 6 – 10 p.m. and will allow you entry into the private wine room at the illustrious Bull & Bear steakhouse at the Waldorf. The price of this dining experience is $110 per person, plus tax and gratuity. You can see my full review of The Taste of Bull & Bear here.
Ill Cibo Della Vita at La Luce
“Ill Cibo Della Vita” translates to “The Food of Life”. Chef de Cuisine Alberto Navarrete, who has headed up the kitchen at La Luce since opening day is turning out delectable offerings every weekend on a special “Food & Wine Weekends” wine pairing menu. Full Dinner Review Coming SOON!!!!
La Luce is always pushing the boundaries of food as art and this talent is mirrored even in the restaurant’s decor. Everywhere you look inside the eatery you will find one-of-a-kind chalk art drawings by renowned artist Edson Campos. We were lucky enough to see him in action on the evening we dined. The next time he will be creating art at La Luce is November 7th.
The Art of Sushi Pairing
A bento with five offerings and three different craft beer or sake pairings for under $45 is what you will find inside the Hilton Bonnet Creek’s Zeta Bar & Sushi Lounge on Friday and Saturday nights. Craft Beer Experience
This one is complementary because when you’re staying in a resort that has won an award recognizing them as the top resort in their hotel portfolio, you can expect customer experiences like this. Every Friday and Saturday throughout Food & Wine Weekends you can sample select local craft beers from 5-7 p.m. in the MYTH Bar at the Hilton Bonnet Creek. The weekend we stayed we were treated to one of Central Florida’s newest craft breweries and one that I have come to be smitten with…Crooked Can Brewery out of Winter Garden, Florida.

Les Douze Macarons
Perhaps the most exciting thing for me this year is the addition of the French Macaron Bar. You guys! I. LOVE. MACARONS!!!!!!!! The Sea Salt Caramel will change your life! Grab a box and take them up to your room with a glass of wine and you will have nothing but sweet dreams guaranteed!
Bar du Chocolat & Champagne Tasting
If chocolate is what you desire, grab a glass of champagne (not normally sold by-the-glass) and entertain your sweet tooth with one of the many signature treats offered on Friday and Saturday evenings in Peacock Alley at the Waldorf Astoria from 6:30-10:30 p.m. My favorites include the turtles and hand-made Twix bars.
If you really want to cap off your epicurean weekend properly, make a reservation for Royal Tea in Peacock Alley (the Waldorf’s lobby lounge). Tea is offered from 2-4 p.m. on Sundays only. Sample unique tea sandwiches and pastries while leisurely sipping premium hot tea as a pianist tickles the ivories. Want to see what’s offered? You can read my full Royal Tea review here.
Going into the fifth year of Food and Wine Weekends, it is apparent that the Hilton Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria Orlando Resorts have honed in on exactly what guests would come to expect from a proper Food & Wine event. And speaking of food and wine…guests of both resorts who are attending the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival receive complementary luxury motorcoach services to and from Epcot.
