The Gaylord Palms team invited us out for a Summer stay at their newly reopened Orlando Resort. We enjoyed two nights and three glorious days lounging by the pool and popping over to the Walt Disney World Resort which is quite literally a stones throw away.
Gaylord Palms just recently opened after a brief shut down and we are happy to report that we saw many safety measures in place during our stay.
Reminders to wear masks and social distance were situated throughout the hotel property. We even spotted a vending machine dispensing masks and sanitizer in the lobby.
Elevators had signage limiting use to four individuals or one travel party. Capacity was low during our stay and we were never in an elevator with anyone besides our direct travel party. Hand sanitizer stations were present at places where guest touch points were required.
Once inside 0ur room we appreciated the addition of hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes placed near the house phone and lamp.
Gaylord Palms has recently updated their health and safety standards. You can read about that at GaylordHotelsClean.com. As part of these measures, daily housekeepers will not enter your room but should you need anything like extra towels, etc. you can contact them for delivery via your in-room phone.
You just can not beat the balcony atrium views here!
We knew that we were going to be spending the majority of our time at the Cypress Springs Water Park and South Beach pool for the duration of our stay.
Safety measures were in place there as well. Signage, hand sanitizer and floor markers placed six feet apart helped guests as they entered and exited the pool area and picked up towels at the pool hut.
Above you can see an employee sanitizing lounge chairs.
Gone are the days where you need to wake up early to get down to the pool area to claim a lounge chair. Now Gaylord Palms gives guests the option of reserving chairs for a small fee. The reserved loungers are marked with special banners and we were able to request the same chairs for the duration of our stay.
A chair reservation isn’t a requirement as there are also loungers without banners available for guests. You’ll also notice that there are banners restricting access to chairs that aren’t socially distant so as to keep parties six feet apart.
Please note that the Adults Only South Beach pool is now open to guests of all ages.
You’ll also have access to two jacuzzi tubs in this quiet area.
The Cypress Springs Water Park area and zero entry pool was open to guests as well.
We enjoyed food and beverages from the Sand Bar restaurant both afternoons before heading into the Walt Disney World Resort for dinner.
And speaking of Disney, the Gaylord Palms Resort is quite literally just outside the gates of Walt Disney World.
If you’re looking for a deluxe resort experience at a fraction of the price during your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation or are just looking to get away for a bit consider booking the Gaylord Palms Orlando Resort.
