Yesterday we took a ride on the Hogwarts Express from the Hogsmeade Station in Islands of Adventure over to the London Kings Cross Station in Universal Studios. If you haven’t seen part one in this series check out this post: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Diagon Alley Photo Tour – Hogwarts Express Hogsmeade to London Kings Cross

Now that we’ve made it from Hogsmeade to the muggle world of London Kings Cross we are ready to do some exploring. Here’s a look back to where the Hogwarts Express last left us.

And here’s a look into the city of London. Keep in mind that I was here for a preview event. Just beyond that brick stage and podium lies the entrance to Diagon Alley. I’ve heard that cast members working in this area of Universal Studios are to act the part of propper muggles and when guests ask where Diagon Alley is, they are to act as if they have no knowledge of such a place.

Strolling down a little further we come upon a trio of brownstones. One look familiar? It should.  This is 12 Grimmauld Place. Home to Sirius Black and headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix. Invisible to muggles, the building would expand and contract to allow wizards to enter. There’s no number on the door and it’s slightly darker in color from the homes flanking either side of it.

If you stand and admire the building for a while you will notice something opening the curtains and peeking out…it’s Kreacher the house elf.

In the center of town guests will find the Eros Fountain as well as the Knight Bus.  The Knight Bus, which made it’s appearance in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, is headed up by Stan the shrunken head.

Day guests will be able to interact with Stan. There is an entrance onto the back of the bus where guests can peer into the lower level, which has been outfitted with beds and curtains.

Also in London are proper red telephone booths. I hopped inside to try and access the Ministry of Magic. As a muggle, I obviously had no luck. Not even my pumpkin juice could comfort me. Pumpkin juice. Where in the world would a muggle like me find pumpkin juice in London? It would be impossible. Unless…unless I had picked up a jug of it in Diagon Alley…
