You guys…I’ve missed you! I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve posted. How have you been? Sorry for the absence but I was on hiatus at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida doing a little running. Well, doing a lot of running actually. 48.6 miles of running to be exact. One of my girlfriends came down from Phoenix and we spent the last few days eating, running and getting up at 3 o’clock in the morning during the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. Yes, Walt Disney World races are a tad bit on the early side. Gotta get the roads clear for the other non-running vacationers ya dig?
Anywho, there’s a swanky new resort that has come to the Downtown Disney area of Walt Disney World and I had the opportunity to rest my tired little runner head there for two glorious nights this past weekend.
Welcome to the B Resort and Spa Lake Buena Vista!
You may not know this about me but I grew up in South Florida. Waaaay South Florida. Like, the southernmost tip of the state. I’m a graduate of Key West High School where it was 90 miles to Cuba and even further than that to Miami. Miami is exactly what this resort reminds me of. Artsy and South Beach’ish inside.
The building was built in the 70’s and then completely remodeled when B took it over so the rooms are HUGE! I mean really, really spacious.
I found the muted blue and gray color scheme to be very relaxing.
Who needs pillow mints when you can have Jelly Belly’s?
The furnishings and fixtures were a mix of modern and retro rad.
There’s a beverage cooler in that cupboard above and a bevvy of snack options available in each guest room.
The resort is environmentally conscious with water conserving toilets and showers, in-room recycle bins and a “for-purchase” stuffed gopher frog (named Benson), who is also the resort’s mascot. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each plush frog goes to the Florida Wildlife Foundation.
The bathroom is outfitted with all natural, plant based products from AVEDA…as is the spa. I’ll have a full review of my “Runner Recharge” treatment I received there shortly.
My room was on the 14th floor with stunning views of Downtown Disney. I watched Wishes fireworks over the Magic Kingdom from my balcony the first night I was there.
This resort was the perfect place to stay for the first half of Marathon Weekend. The resort is conveniently located next to Downtown Disney. I had my own vehicle on-site, however there are complementary shuttles available to the Disney theme parks and the resort has an on-site restaurant and bar serving breakfast and dinner as well as a “grab and go” option for lunch. You can easily stroll on over to the Downtown Disney Marketplace for a bite to eat or to do some shopping.

I was hosted as a guest of the B Resort for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own.
