I’m currently at the OMNI Champions Gate Resort in Orlando, Florida for the Florida Cattlemen’s Association Convention. For those of you who have never had the pleasure of staying here, I put together a little video.
We’ve enjoyed our time here at the OMNI.
The staff has been great. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The food has been good at David’s Club…which has been the only restaurant here open for dinner with a sold out hotel for the past two nights. There are two other restaurants on the premises, one Italian and another that serves sushi. The resort closed these two restaurants down and left us to fight for seats at the only restaurant left open. Needless to say, we will be leaving the resort tonight for dinner. Might be something to contemplate if you are considering hosting a convention here. Last night there was a 2.5 hour wait at 7 p.m. and our poor server was totally in the weeds.
Other than that we have had great family fun lounging in the lazy river pool. David’s Club had a fantastic craft beer selection as well as an extensive wine list and cocktail selection.
The resort is conveniently located off of I-4, near Walt Disney World, with fairly easy access to 417. Rates start around $150 per night. Please note that there is a resort fee as well as a daily charge for parking which is will be additional.
