We all know cruise travel includes world class entertainment. Broadway caliber shows, stand up comedy and first run movies are just a few of the things you’ll find on a Carnival Cruise, but did you know you can also see some of your favorite bands at sea?
I’ve had the pleasure of rocking out to Martina McBride, Journey and most recently Nick Jonas. All of these concerts took place in an intimate setting on a Carnival ship as part of Carnival Live. In 2018 we will see the addition of Carley Rae Jepsen to the Carnival Live roster.
I recently set sail on a three day Carnival Live getaway from Port Canaveral, Florida on the Carnival Liberty.
On prior Live sailings we have docked in port, the talent has come on board to perform and then debarked before we set sail to another destination. On this particular sailing Nick Jonas performed during our first night at sea.
I can not stress to you enough just how intimate these Live sailings are. We were quite literally just a few feet from Nick as he serenaded us.
Theres not a bad seat in the house.
And this isn’t just a few songs. These concerts are full fledged productions with artists singing multiple hits. And because the artists can actually see the faces of all the fans they are singing to, there’s much more audience interaction than you would find at a massive arena show.
Because this was a short three night itinerary we had only one port day in Nassau.
My husband and I had one goal. To park ourselves on a white sand Caribbean beach for a few hours. We did just that on our “VIP Beach Day at Blue Lagoon Island” excursion.
Complementary mimosas and lunch on the beach, plus shelter from the waves in the calm lagoon made for an extremely relaxing day.
Once back on the ship we had an unforgettable dinner inside the ship’s steakhouse. They were even ble to accommodate me with multiple vegan courses so I could dine with my friends.
And speaking of food….you know I’m all about it when cruising Carnival!
Here’s a look at a few of the vegan dishes I had.
Blue Iguana Cantina vegan breakfast burritos ? every morning.
Except for Sea Day Brunch where I ate my weight in crispy fried hashbrowns and artistically plated fruit.
In the main dining room I indulged in Indian Vegetarian and this delectable pasta dish.
And filled up on freshly rolled sushi.
Evenings were spent playing blackjack in the casino and of course chatting up fellow cruise passengers at our favorite watering hole, the Alchemy Bar.
I can not reiterate enough how much fun we had on our Carnival Live sailing!

Special thanks to Carnival for hosting us for the purpose of this review. All opinions are my own as always.
