Last year the Disney Wonder went through a major transformation during drydock. She is now ported on Florida’s East Coast and I had the opportunity to step on board for a quick visit.
One of the most anticipated enhancements on the ship was the addition of “The Princess and the Frog” inspired restaurant Tiana’s Place.
We were presented with the opportunity to enjoy lunch here during our visit where we were treated to authentic New Orleans cuisine and live jazz music by “The Crawfish Crooners” in a supper club setting with stunning views of the water.
THE RESTAURANT
The themeing inside Tiana’s Place starts in the entryway where red brick and wrought iron are dripping with Mardi Gras beads. You really feel as if you have been transported to the Bayou.
The same red brick carries through into the interior of the restaurant where photos of Tiana and her family adorn the walls. It is, after all, her place.
The rich hardwood floors pair beautifully with the green tablecloths and hanging ferns.
Whitewashed chairs with a paddle boat feel provide seating for guests and the gingerbread scrollwork quickly draws your eyes to the ceiling.
Subtle nods to “The Princess and the Frog” can be seen throughout the dining area.
I especially loved the flatware with its touches of the Princess and Prince in froggy form.
Princess Tiana welcomes guests as the band plays center stage.

After our bellies were full, we took a few hours to explore the rest of the newly reimagined spaces on the Disney Wonder cruise ship. More on that in a future post.
Special thanks to Disney for hosting me at this unique media day. As always all opinions are my own.
