Orlando. What are you waiting for? Get thine self to the Gaylord Palms Resort immediately! You need to experience MOOR restaurant for yourself. MOOR is the brand new reboot of Sunset Sam’s waterfront restaurant in Gaylord Palm’s Key West Atrium.
It’s location makes it easy to get to. Hop right off of Osceola Parkway, 417 or I-4. Parking is FREE when you dine here…even valet. Staying at a Disney resort? Take a complementary shuttle from any of Walt Disney World’s theme parks or Downtown Disney.
Locals…get out and support MOOR as MOOR supports our local community. You’ll find local purveyors here such as Gary’s Seafood Specialties out of Orlando and My Yard Farm of Winter Park. Nibble artisan breads baked by Douce France Bakery in Winter Garden. Craft beer lovers will rejoice at local brews being tapped from Crooked Can Brewing Company and Funky Buddha Brewery.
You can dine al fresco on the restaurant’s patio overlooking a 12,000 square foot lawn, inside in the lounge area or main dining room and waterfront on a 60-foot sailboat within the atrium. There’s even a chef’s table for private dining. If you dine inside, and you’ve eaten at the former Sunset Sam’s you may notice something missing. The southernmost marker, which is a replica of the southernmost marker in Key West that reads “90 Miles to Cuba”, has been removed and dedicated to the “Give Kids the World” Village in Kissimmee which houses and grants wishes to children with life threatening illnesses.
The menu at MOOR changes daily but a sampling of offerings might include fresh-off-the-line grouper, hog fish, mahi or snapper. Appetizers of jalapeno cornbread and buttermilk biscuits with apple butter and bacon jam. Chicken and waffles with maple pan sauce and even a MOOR burger for your “turf” loving friends.
Six Course Menu
Last week I had the opportunity to sit down for a six course meal prepared at the hands of Chef Phillip Fisher who was fresh off “the rock” and onto the mainland. Chef Fisher has made Gaylord Palms his home resort after perfecting his seafood game at the Ocean Key House Resort and Spa in my hometown of Key West, Florida. How fitting that he is now preparing meals in the Key West Atrium at Gaylord Palms!
Our dining experience began with craft cocktails.

When our dining experience had wrapped my husband and I enjoyed a nice leisurely stroll throughout the Key West, St. Augustine and Everglade Atriums. MOOR joins SandBar, Sora Sushi, Vila de Flora, Wreckers Sports Bar, and Old Hickory Steakhouse to round out the magnificent dining options at Gaylord Palms. You can read my review of Old Hickory Steakhouse here and should you decide to make a weekend of it here’s a Video Tour of a Deluxe Suite at the resort.

I was hosted at this dinner as a guest of the Gaylord Palms Resort. I was not required to write this post and as always all opinions are my own.
Amanda this dinner looks amazing! What gorgeous food and cocktails. It is nice to see hotels in Orlando embrace the Eat Local movement and the atrium space at Gaylord Palms is such a beautiful setting.
Totally agree! Resort restaurants are so underrated here in Orlando
