The holidays can be hectic. Last night the cowboy and I took some time for a holiday date night and checked out the new winter menu offerings at Bonefish Grill here in Orlando.
If you’ve never heard of Bonefish Grill before, they are a casual seafood restaurant chain that originated right here in my home state of Florida and they have grown from one location in St. Pete to over 200 locations across the U.S.
Here’s a look back at everything we sampled on our Holiday Date Night.
Bread Service
pesto | olive oil
OK…so the bread service was a nice start to the meal and is served year round. I love that it’s served with a pesto for dipping instead of Plain Jane butter.
Winter White Cosmopolitan
Reyka Vodka | Cointreau | St. Germain Elderflower liqueur | white cranberry juice | fresh lime juice
I have to admit that I had been looking forward to this beverage all day. I’d had the pleasure of sipping this holiday cocktail previously at the opening of the Bonefish Grill Kissimmee Main Gate location near Walt DIsney World. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and sour.
Wagyu Beef + Ginger Potstickers
crispy onions | soy sauce
When you have a shellfish sensitivity and your husband can’t eat fish this is the appetizer to order and share. The potstickers were pan seared and just enough to whet our appetites. This is another item that is also served year round.
Fresh Florida Stone Crabs
house-made mustard sauce | cocktail sauce
You should have seen the cowboy’s eyes light up as soon as these stone crabs hit the table. Because this is a seasonal menu item, they can be hard to find. In fact, Bonefish Grill lists stone crabs on it’s menu as “available while supplies last”.
These four meaty claws equal one full pound and come cracked for you so they take less work. The hubby requested a side of drawn butter for dipping…and then sopped up the remaining butter with that crusty loaf of bread we’d enjoyed earlier.
Misoyaki Sea Bass
misoyaki marinade | pickle ginger relish | sauteed spinach | mushrooms | jasmine rice
I lurve fish and I never prepare it at home because, well, like deep frying food, cooking seafood inside your home can leave a lingering aroma. Sea bass ranks right up there with snapper and grouper as one of my favorite types of fish and this oak grilled, misoyaki glazed version was not at all fishy and super delicate and flaky.
I took full advantage of happy hour and paired my fish with a glass of house Chardonnay.
Chocolate Creme Brulee
chocolate custard | Grand Marnier | housemade whipped cream
We ended our date night on a sweet note. I ate the brulee while the cowboy indulged in the custard. This dessert is extremely rich so make sure you’re ready for it.
Bonefish Grill is currently running a 12 Days of Christmas promotion where they are giving you a different gift every day. You can access the offer here or by visiting their facebook page. Last night our offer was a complementary Bang Bang Shrimp with the purchase of two entrees. The eatery is also offering a $10 Bonus Card for every $50 purchased in gift cards now through December 31st.
If you’re in the Walt Disney World area check out the Hunter’s Creek location (which is where we dined) for fantastic service and atmosphere and then head out into The Loop shopping area and walk off all that glorious date night food. Bonefish Grill is located inside The Loop West Shopping Center at 2699 W Osceola Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL 34741.
Special thanks to Bonefish Grill for hosting us at this dinner. As always, all opinions are my own.
