Are you as obsessed with the holidays as I am?
I think Halloween has to be one of my favorites and I like to make it stretch out as long as I can throughout the month of October. It helps that our family owns and operates a corn maze here in the town where we live and on the weekends we transform it into a haunted corn maze. This really keeps the spooky spirit alive all month long!
Our corn maze would not be possible without all of our friends and family lending a hand. I thought that these would make nice #SpookySnacks to reward all of our help this Halloween.
I found everything featured below at Walmart.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Brown & Green Pipe Cleaners
Fanta Orange Soda
Now and Later Watermelon Candy
Assembly is really quite simple and you can have these whipped up in a flash.
Halloween OREO Black Cats & a Fanta Orange Pumpkin
The pumpkin is as easy as fashioning a brown pipe cleaner around a serving glass and twisting it at the top to form the pumpkin stem. Then cut one green pipe cleaner in half and twist it around a pen to form the pumpkin vines. Attach it to your pumpkin stem by twisting it into place.
Here’s how to assemble the OREO Black Cats:
Use a sharp knife to cut the corner off of your watermelon candy. This will form the cat’s triangle nose. Next, cut two pieces off your tootsie roll candy and shape them into triangular ears. Then slice off some more tootsie roll to form the whiskers. Melt your chocolate in a sandwich bag in the microwave. This should take about 15 – 20 seconds. Cut the corner off your bag and pipe the chocolate onto the back of your candy eyes, nose and whiskers. This will act like glue when attaching them to your OREO cookie forming the face of your cat.
Repeat this process for as many Halloween OREO Black Cats as you need. I purchased a 30 pack box of Spooky Edition “Glow-in-the-Dark” OREO cookies. Any unused packs will be handed out to trick-or-treaters at the corn maze on Halloween night.
