Food & Wine Weekends Sneak Peek at the Hilton Bonnet Creek & Waldorf Astoria Orlando

Food & Wine Weekends at the Hilton Bonnet Creek & Waldorf Astoria Orlando

9 weekends, 12 dining venues and a $100 resort credit to enjoy it all!

‘Tis the season for wining and dining in Central Florida. We are in the middle of a perfect storm for foodies with the convergence of Food & Wine Weekends at Bonnet Creek, Magical Dining Month in Orlando and the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.

I’m taking advantage of it all this year and making the Hilton Bonnet Creek and the Waldorf Astoria Orlando Resort my home base.

This week I made my way out to what I lovingly refer to as my second home for a sneak peek of the offerings available as part of Bonnet Creek’s Food & Wine Weekends.

The team at the Hilton Bonnet Creek and the Waldorf Astoria Orlando Resort are kicking off Food and Wine Weekends today!

Now in its 6th year, 2016 is slated to be better than ever with the return of unique dining experiences at each of the resorts’ signature restaurants, the Bar du Chocolat, the Macaron Bar, the Craft Beer Experience and the addition of a brand new Cocktail Creations experience.

Quite possibly the most frequented spot I dine at inside the gates of the Walt Disney World Resort is La Luce at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. When guests come to visit from out of town or I need a spot to meet up with friends for a quick cocktail you can find me here chatting up my favorite bartenders Tony and Debra and lovingly harassing Chef Dannilo to make me something extra special back in the kitchen.

This year you can enjoy an exclusive four-course menu with recommended wine pairings featuring the best of La Luce.

Zeta Bar & Sushi Lounge at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek has become one of my favorite spots for Happy Hour and they are also a participating venue for Food & Wine Weekends. Enjoy an exciting epicurean journey at Zeta, exploring perfect pairings of sake and beer with favorite sushi dishes.

Muddle, mix and sample inside Peacock Alley at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando!

Partake in an interactive experience creating the resort’s very own specialty cocktails.

I had fun testing my skills at crafting the perfect spin on a Moscow Mule. This iteration is available on Bull & Bear’s Specialty Cocktail Menu year round and is called “The Bull, The Bear and The Mule”. You will have to take a good look at the labels on the liquor bottles to figure out why the drink is named as such. It was delicious!

The Bull, The Bear and The Mule:
St Augustine Vodka, Buffalo Trace Bourbon
Barenjager Honey, Homemade Ginger Syrup

Bar du Chocolat and Champagne Tasting
Friday and Saturday, 6:30 – 10:30pm

Food & Wine Weekends at the Hilton Bonnet Creek & Waldorf Astoria Orlando

Peacock Alley at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando carves out a little slice of heaven on the weekends with their Bar du Chocolat, a decadent selection of à la carte chocolate treats hand-crafted by Waldorf Astoria Orlando’s world-class pastry team.

Highlights include chocolate truffles, exotic chocolate cakes and bowls of beautiful bon-bons. My favorite item offered is the homemade Twix bars followed closely by the chocolate napoleon pictured above.

A selection of champagnes for pairing is also available. I was surprised to find “high end” by-the-glass options on my last visit.

Macaron Bar
Friday & Saturday, 6 – 10pm

Food & Wine Weekends at the Bonnet Creek Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Orlando Resort

MYTH Bar is the centerpiece of the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. Do NOT pass up on the opportunity to grab a few of the macarons here which are all hand-made by the resort’s world-class pastry team.

Craft Beer Experience
Friday & Saturday

Food & Wine Weekends at the Bonnet Creek Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Orlando Resort - Craft Beer Experience

MYTH Bar at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek also sets the stage for you to taste a bit of Orlando’s local craft beer scene. Home-town breweries are showcased in this interactive tasting of craft beers on select weekends.

My favorite local brewery, Crooked Can, brought along two brews for us to sample… a Belgian Strong and a Porter. I’ll be stalking Bonnet Creek online to find out which weekend Crooked Can will return.

Royal Tea – A Waldorf Astoria Tradition
Sundays, 2 – 4pm

Waldorf Astoria Orlando Royal Tea - WheresAmanda.com

Peacock Alley at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando is where you need to be on Sunday. Savor finely-prepared tea sandwiches and house-made pastries while sipping premium hot tea and listening to live piano music. Ask the pianist to play you anything…even Hedwig’s Theme from Harry Potter! Add a glass of champagne for a “Grand Royal Tea.” Reservations are required 24 hours in advance.

Astoria After Dark
