When presented with an opportunity to spend any amount of time on the beaches of Florida’s west coast, my choice is always YES.
A few months back, my husband and I met up with some friends for cocktails and tapas at a fairly new spot directly on Saint Pete Beach. We were having a spring fling at the newly renovated Beach House Suites by Loews Don Cesar and made a short trek down the street to experience the new Rowe Bar at the Loews Don Cesar Resort.
Rowe is a perfect play on words. Sounds nautical while at the same time representing the hotel’s visionary founder Thomas Rowe. This new seaside watering hole is more than just a hotel lounge. Rowe Bar is an ideal blend of relaxed beach vibe and modern coastal cuisine.
When was the last time you saw a julep on your local bar menu? How about a communal punch bowl that serves four?
At Rowe Bar you can sip concoctions made by master mixologists with names like The Last Typhoon, Angels on Toast and Rest & Recuperation.
(Looks like lipstick on my martini glass but it’s not mine. This cocktail has a story…ask your bartender)
Whet your appetite here while enjoying the sunset on an outdoor deck that faces directly onto the water. St. Pete Beach is famous for its sunsets.
Our table feasted on Carpaccio, Oysters on the Half Shell, and an impressive Cheese and Charcuterie Board while enjoying relaxing conversation and all that Florida spring evenings have to offer.
We relished our experience so much that we returned the following night for a proper dinner which included Peel & Eat Shrimp, Smoked Fish Spread, Wahoo Crudo, Poached Maine Lobster with Lobster Salad and a Wagyu Burger with Blue Cheese Fries.
Rowe Bar is open Sunday – Thursday from 11 am to 1 am and Friday – Saturday from 11 am – 2 am. Self-parking is available for $10 per car (up to three hours). It’s located on the lower level of the Loews Don CeSar Resort at 3400 Gulf Boulevard, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706.
