What if I told you that there’s a way to pack in a full day’s worth of experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios inside the Walt Disney World Resort with zero wait times and free snacks for about the same price as a one day ticket…would you do it? How about if I added in character meet and greets and took ninety percent of other park guests out of the equation? I’m dreaming you say?
That dream is now a reality.
Introducing Disney After Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Walt Disney World has taken the very best parts of a day in the park and condensed them into a three hour extravaganza that can be described as nothing short of a VIP Experience.
Select nights from now through April 19th, 2019 Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be hosting this special Disney After Hours event which gives guests the opportunity to experience Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, Toy Story Mania!, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue and Star Wars Launch Bay with practically zero wait.
Character Greetings include Toy Story Land Pals, Sorcerer Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Olaf, BB-8, Chewbacca and Kylo Ren.
We were able to get our pictures with Mickey, Minnie and Olaf in less than fifteen minutes and spend as much time with each character as we liked because there were no other guests in line behind us the entire time.
All three Toy Story Land attractions were “walk on” the entire evening.
After we’d ridden all the attractions, we took some time to explore the park and take photos that would be absolutely impossible to take during normal park hours without getting fellow guests in the shots or getting trampled.
Lying down on Hollywood Boulevard in the middle of the event to get the perfect shot was a real trip and something day guests would have to wait around all day for to try and attempt before park closing.
The fact that this event took place during the holidays when the park was all decked out in its Christmas finery added an extra layer of delight.
…and let’s not forget the free snacks.
Event guests have access to all of the complementary popcorn, ice cream novelties, soda and bottled water that they want throughout the course of the evening.
If you’re looking for a meal during the event, options are slim. Woody’s Lunchbox in Toy Story Land was open for business though.
There are also a handful of places to get adult beverages which are not included in the price of admission.
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful dinner at Jiko in Animal Kingdom Lodge befor heading over to the After Hours Event which gave us more time to play.
Would ten outta ten recommend splurging for this event. Would also recommend folks considering a one day ticket to purchase this one instead.
I’d rather enjoy a leisurely day at my resort, pool and Disney Springs and then a leisurely night at Disney After Hours with no crowds or standing in line.
