Walt Disney World is undoubtedly the most Magical Place on Earth. They say a rainy day at Disney beats a sunny day anywhere else so it should come as no surprise that a half marathon at Walt Disney World would be just as thrilling. runDisney…Where Every Mile is Magic.
In February I participated in the runDisney Glass Slipper Challenge which is a 19.3 mile race run over two consecutive days. The Challenge is comprised of the Enchanted 10K (6.2 miles) and the Disney Princess Half Marathon (13.1 miles). This year I ran it with my girlfriend Tamara and we had a blast. Here are a few pictures to prove it.
This shot was inside Epcot’s World Showcase during the Enchanted 10K portion of the run and just as the sun was starting rise.
Forget the Disney character stops. Give me a drum line any day!
Running down Main Street USA towards the castle first thing in the morning will make your spirit soar.
Running THROUGH Cinderella Castle is the icing on the pixie dusted cake.
Most people pause for potty breaks. Nope. Not me. A little side bet to see if I could yank the Sword in the Stone loose.
You won’t find better half marathon course scenery than the Magic Kingdom.
Here’s where things got a little dicey and we had to be untied from the train tracks by our train conductor heroes.
Oh just me and a few of my closest friends going for a little jog through a couple of Orlando’s top theme parks.
Gospel choir at mile 13 to make sure your eyes are good and lubricated for your photo finish.
…and all of this for only $305! Yes…sadly that is the cost for entry into the Glass Slipper Challenge. Would I do it again? Absolutely. I’ve run this race for the past 5 years. For more info on the runDisney Glass Slipper Challenge or any of Disney’s races visit runDisney.com.

You are making me miss the race! Such a fun weekend.
Only 10 more months til we do it all again
I am sitting at work, a little bored, thinking about my Mom and my princess run weekend and perusing random recaps and come upon yours which has a great picture of our backsides. I hope you don’t mind, I am going to reprint it for my Mom and I. We are in the terrace picture, smack dab in the middle in the green May Belle outfits. (there is a lady in a bright green tutu to our left).
Such a small world!
That. Is. Awesome! Feel free to steal your derriere photo and reprint it for “posterior” sake
Thanks. My Mom and I had such a good laugh about it. I printed it and put it in the scrapbooks. You are so Punny!
I love it! You guys had way too much fun. I’m training for my first half marathon, first runDisney race, and at times I get nervous about the distance killing me. But look at all those smiles! Very encouraging. 🙂
Great post, thanks
Completing a half is 20% physical and 80% mental. Go into it thinking you will finish and you will! #FinishStrong
Great pics!
