Vegans won’t be left out in the cold at Walt Disney World’s 2017 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
We all know that cookies and hot cocoa abound at this special hard ticket event inside the Magic Kingdom. But what about the plant based eaters? What kinds of Disney treats are available to them?
This was the first year that I’ve attended Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party since switching over to a vegan diet and I had no idea what to expect.
My girlfriend Carise and I started our evening off at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe with french fries and vegan falafel burgers. 🍔 Once we had that base layer down it was time to search out the sweets! We found the nearest complementary cookie station on our park map and decided to just hop online and ask the cast member doling out cookies if they had anything that we could eat.
Huzzah! My favorite! Enjoy Life vegan chocolate chip cookies 🍪 for everyone!!!!
We snagged a couple of packs and made our way down Main Street USA to catch the best spot for the Once Upon a Christmas Time Parade.
After the last float had passed it was on to Adventureland for a ride on the Jingle Cruise 🚢. Yessiree the world famous Jungle Cruise transforms magically into the Jingle Cruise during the holidays. And adjacent to its neighbor Pirates of the Caribbean, you’ll find a couple of new vegan treats inside Tortuga Tavern.
That’s right, ☃️mini snowman pretzels are being offered this year and just like the iconic Mickey pretzels you’ll find throughout the Disney parks, they too are accidentally vegan. There’s even tiny packets of mustard to doctor them up with in the outdoor seating area outside the restaurant.
To go along with your pretzel, go ahead and order the blue ❄️ snow cone. A cast member let me check the ingredients list and it too is accidentally vegan.
There’s no limit to the amount of vegan chocolate chip cookies, snowcones and mini snowmen pretzels you’re allowed so go ahead and go ham! 🎅🏼🤶🏻 It is the holidays after all.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is held in the Magic Kingdom on select nights throughout November and December. Tickets start at $89 and your party ticket will gain you entry into the themepark as early as 4 PM. For more info on dates and pricing visit Disney.com
Special thanks to the Walt Disney World Resort for hosting me at this special event.
